Directions to Whispering Wings Ranch at Rockhouse Creek Preserve

The preserve is approximately 3 ½ hours from Little Rock (175 miles). It is 25 minutes southwest of Berryville and 25 minutes southeast of Eureka Springs. High clearance vehicles are recommended.

From Central Arkansas:

Directions via US–65: Take Interstate 40 west to exit 125 in Conway. Take exit 125 and turn right onto US-65 North. Follow US–65 North for 107 miles to Harrison. In Harrison, merge right at “Y” onto US-65 North/US-412 West and continue for 5 miles. Turn right onto US-412 West/US-62 West. Drive for 23.6 miles through Berryville. Just past the intersection with AR-21 South, look for Highway 221 South. Turn left on AR-221 South. Following signs for AR-221 South, turn left onto W. Carl Ave., then another left onto AR-221 South/Huntsville St. Drive 0.5 mile, then turn left to stay on AR-221 for 8 miles. Kings River Outfitters will be on the right just past the bridge crossing Kings River.

Directions via AR-21: Take Interstate 40 west past Russellville to Lamar (US-64). Exit at US-64 and turn right. Follow US–64 a few miles to AR–21 North. Turn right on AR–21 North. Follow AR–21 North for about two hours through merging and unmerging with AR–16, through Boxley Valley. (Note: As you drive downslope into Boxley Valley you drive through The Nature Conservancy’s Smith Creek Preserve.) Continue on AR-21 North through Kingston to Berryville. In Berryville, turn left onto US–62 West. Follow US–62 a few hundred yards to AR-221 South. Turn left on AR-221 South. Following signs for AR-221 South, turn left onto W. Carl Ave., then another left onto AR-221 South/Huntsville St. Drive 0.5 mile, then turn left to stay on AR-221 for 8 miles. Kings River Outfitters is on the right just past the bridge crossing Kings River.

To Whispering Wings Ranch at Rockhouse Creek Preserve

Continue past Kings River Outfitters for 2 miles until it turns to gravel (becomes County Road 302). Follow CR 302 for approximately 2 miles (after about 0.5 mile, the road splits and rejoins; staying to the right is faster and smoother) until you come to a small “Y”. There is a red gate on your right with the address 12336 CR 302. Continue through the gate and drive 1 mile. You are at the log home!

From Eureka Springs:

  • Take US-62 East through Eureka Springs.
  • Turn right (south) onto Rockhouse Road (County Road 302). At the Rockhouse Road intersection is an ECHO Thrift Store.
  • Follow Rockhouse Road for approximately 7 miles.
  • Stay right at the “Y”, to AR-221.
  • Turn right onto AR-221 and continue for 1 mile until it turns to gravel (becomes County Road 302).
  • Follow CR 302 for approximately 2 miles (after about 0.5 mile, the road splits and rejoins; staying to the right is faster and smoother) until you come to a small “Y”.
  • There is a red gate on your right with the address 12336 CR 302.
  • Continue through the gate and drive 1 mile. You are at the log home!

From Berryville:

  • Follow US-62 West. A few hundred yards past AR-21 South, turn left on AR-221 South into a residential neighborhood.
  • Following signs for AR-221 South, turn left onto W. Carl Ave., then another left onto AR-221 South/Huntsville St. Drive 0.5 mile, then turn left to stay on AR-221.
  • Follow AR-221 South for approximately 8 miles to the Kings River. Kings River Outfitters is on the right just past the bridge crossing Kings River.
  • Continue past Kings River Outfitters for 2 miles until it turns to gravel (becomes County Road 302).
